Couple: John & Cynthia from Singapore
Date: May 2012
Destination: Santorini island, Greece
Wedding Type: Civil wedding ceremony
5 months before the wedding date, John & Cynthia came to us with a big challenge; to host a legalized marriage in Greece. Indeed, a tough task but an inviting challenge to us. Knowing it will involve plenty of paperwork, processes & bureaucracy at both source and destination country, we took up the challenge! After initial exchanges of emails, we met and they are such wonderful couple to work with. After understanding their requirement and wishes, we gave them some insights of the beautiful Greece, the island and of course the wedding details.
Sparks went flying and next thing we know, they are off to the gorgeous Greek island of Santorini ! The arduous process was worthwhile. Joycelyn, our wedding consultant and our Greek counterparts gave it all to make sure the required paperwork are in good order. A heart-felt thanks to the Singapore officials and the Greek authorities.

A photo-tour with some postcard worthy shots before the ceremony
Arriving a day earlier gives the couple some time to settle down, get to know the island and run though the wedding day itinerary. On the actual day, the weather couldn’t be more kinder to the couple. The island basking under the warm Mediterranean sun with the breeze from the Aegean sea, perfect day for a unique wedding 10,000 miles from home. Our professional makeup and image stylist gave the bride a ravishing look before the couple embarked on a photo shoot in some of the picturesque villages and iconic locations on the island.

Reciting the marriage oath in English with the presiding Greek official
There are plenty of beautiful venues on the island of Santorini to host that perfect wedding; the white-washed blue dome chapels, on a yacht deck, beautiful veranda of wineries, traditional Greek taverna or balconies and terraces of hotels along the caldera rim. The couple chose to have it at a terrace with beautiful views of the Aegean Sea during the late afternoon sunset period.
The prelude of musicians playing traditional Greek ceremonial music provide the cue for the bride to make entrance to the decorated ceremonial area. This is followed by a solemn ceremony under the supervision of the registrar and the exchanges of vows with the marriage ring marked the beginning of the new chapter in the couple’s life. No wedding is complete without the cake cutting and a toast with Vinsanto, a 15 year old sweet Santorini wine! A short photography session follows with the couple retreating to a private dinner in a romantic Greek restaurant.
Following a few days of relaxing in Santorini, the couple make their onwards journey for their honeymoon in rest of Greece & Italy. It was an extra-ordinary experience for everybody, nothing beats the feeling of a successful romantic destination wedding in the Aegean Sea & Mediterranean. Hear what John & Cynthia has to say here
