Surprise Proposal in Santorini
Ken and Gina are a young couple from Singapore whose romantic holiday in Greece was undertaken by our travel boutique. Ken is candid and unpretentious, someone we felt instantly comfortable to engage in good conversation. While we were running through the travel itinerary, Ken revealed the thought of proposing to his sweet heart during his last stop in Santorini, one of the most famous and romantic Greek islands in the Aegean sea. That, according to him will be the best place on earth to pop the question.
After a couple rounds of private discussion and knowing more of Gina’s personality, we decided that the wedding proposal will take place in a subdued non-elaborated environment. A private villa was arranged in the picturesque small town of Oia – a scenic settlement built on the steep slope of the caldera along with the houses and restaurants on the north west edge Santorini island. The villa is equipped with a private Jacuzzi and veranda, kitchen, living room and a bedroom. Having the best view in Santorini does make this place that extra special especially the postcard-worthy picture of the famous iconic blue-domed chapels and pink bell tower right at the doorstop.
Hidden ring and bouquet; camouflaged video cam; in-room candle light dinner with local wine; enchanting Santorini sunset. Gina accepted! And this is the cue we will reveal ourselves and offer our congratulations to the couple.
We took a selfie together right before the sun finally sets beneath the horizon. Ken and Gina describe this day as the most ecstatic moment of their Greece trip and shall etched in their memory for as long as they could remember. A successfully organized surprise wedding proposal deserves a celebration, we agree to meet again the next day for a dinner at a local tavern. And we left the villa with the couple in absolute euphoria.
